The goal of Raghavendra Samiti devotees, is to build a Matta to install Sri Raghavendra Swamigala Mruthika Brindavana in Toronto.

In the summer of 2003, by the grace of Sri Hari, Vayu and Gurugalu, a photo of Sri Raghavendra Swami, along with His Yantra, Vastra and Akshata, was given by Sri Sushameendra Theertha Swamiji of Mantralaya to Sujata Narasimha, who blessed her to start a Dhayana Mantapa of Sri Raghavendra Swamigalu in Toronto, Canada. On August 28, 2003 the photo was installed at Sri Bhuvaneshwari Devi Temple in Toronto, Ontario.

On April 25, 2004, few devotees contributed and were able to install an Alankara Brindavana in the temple.

This is the first Brindavana of Sri Raghavendra Swamiji in Canada!

In mid 2005, we requested Puthige Matt Swamiji Sri Sugunendra Teertharu of Udupi to visit Toronto and help us start the Matta and to install Mruthika Brindavana of Sri Gurugalu. Sri Sugunendra Teertharu came here for a short visit in Oct 2005 and stayed for 10 days and performed Puja in the temple and in devotees homes.

There are many branches of Puthige Matha in India and there are 3 in USA itself. At present, Puthige Matt Swamiji is in Parayaya in Udupi till January 2010. He has promised that his first task to be accomplished after Parayaya will be to build a Matta in Toronto! His Holiness has promised to help build a Matta in Toronto for Sri Krishna, Hanuman and Sri Raghavendra Swamiji to cater to all the religious and spiritual needs of devotees in Toronto.

Since this is a very huge project, we have started to collect funds in an effort to build the Matta.

The Matta will serve the religious services, adult and children Sanskrit and Vedanta classes, teach Shlokas and will cater to all our spiritual and religious needs.

Since the installation of the Alankara Brindavana in 2003, Devotees gather together every Thursday from 7:30 to 9:00 pm to sing bhajans and perform Puja for Sri Raghavendra Swamigalu at Sri Bhuvaneshwari Temple.
